Your “self-love” language…🧠⁣🌱

Gary Chapman’s bestselling book ‘The 5 Love Languages’ suggests that there are distinct ways that people prefer to receive love from others.

According to Gary Chapman, you can find out your primary love language by contemplating these questions:

1. What does your partner do (or not do) that hurts you the most? The opposite is your love language – e.g. them not spending enough time with you means ‘quality time’ is your primary love language.

2. What do you often request from your partner?

3. How do you usually illustrate your love to your partner? This might reflect what also makes you feel loved.

While reading this book, it dawned on me that we may also have primary self-love languages. Perhaps, as a method of exploration, we could apply these questions to ourselves

– for example –

what do you do or not do for yourself which hurts you the most?

While I believe that all these self-love languages are important because they create a conversation between mind, body and soul, there may be ones that you value more than others; especially at certain periods of your life.

Only you know and understand your needs best. So, use this graphic to distinguish which language is speaking to you the loudest right now and which one(s) you might be neglecting…..
